"On behalf of the faculty and staff of Gilles-Sweet Elementary School, it is our pleasure to recognize Mrs. Allison Klodnick and honor her as our May Shining Star Staff.

Mrs. Klodnick recently organized and orchestrated another successful Derby Dash fundraising campaign last weekend.  This year, Mrs. Klodnick exceeded the goal of 700 registrations with a total of 829 for the 5K Derby Dash Fun Run/Walk.  A very special thank you to Mrs. Allison Klodnick for all her hard work and dedication day in and day out, year after year to provide students, their families, staff and community of Fairview Park an opportunity to celebrate health and wellness while raising money for school initiatives, field trips, and student materials/resources. "

"We are pleased to recognize Mrs. Amy Stevens as Gilles-Sweet's October Shining Star recipient. Mrs. Stevens continuously strives to go above and beyond for not only her students but also the students and staff of Gilles-Sweet. Mrs. Stevens invests countless hours outside of the school day planning lessons and activities for her classroom, PRIDE House lesson slide shows, and as one of the Student Council Advisor. She takes great pride in her career and holds a deep commitment to the overall well being and success of each child."

"Anne is a breath of fresh air everyday. She comes to work with a positive attitude. She is so kind to all the children and the staff. Her sense of humor helps to lighten any situation. Anne is definitely an asset to the EEC and to the district. Thanks for all you do Anne."

"I have really enjoyed getting to know Mrs. Clouse on a greater level as my role within the middle school evolved. I've found Annie to be a dedicated, imaginative teacher who genuinely cares about all of her students. Annie works diligently each day to connect with her students and inspire them to harness their individual creativity and express themselves in meaningful and beautiful ways. We are very fortunate to have Annie on staff here at the 6-12 building. Congratulations, Annie!"

Carmen is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. I've literally never seen him sit down unless it is on the ride on floor cleaning machine. Carmen takes on tasks that others do not want and he greets every job with a smile and a positive attitude. Carmen has been a dedicated employee to the Fairview Park City School district for many years and has worked tirelessly to make a positive name for himself within the organization. I am proud the work he has done, and look forward to the other great things he will do to ensure our building continues to to look as great as it always does in the future.

"Cathy often pitches in when needs arise to help meet the needs of students for all facets of school life. October 29th was yet another example of her stepping up to solve an emergency. On a Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm Cathy left the beautiful Fall afternoon weather to drive over an hour with a bus to rescue a driver and team stranded on the turnpike and get them home safely. Thank you for your unselfish act that day and the countless others!"

"Cathy is so patient with us. She is a great addition to our staff. All the students are excited to see her. She always has our students in mind when doing anything. We are so happy Cathy joined our EEC family."

"On behalf of the faculty and staff of Gilles-Sweet Elementary School, it is our pleasure to recognition Mrs. Cheryl Raimann and honor her as our November Shining Star Staff.

Mrs. Raimann fills the kitchen and cafetorium of Gilles-Sweet each day with her kind, warm, and delightful interactions with students and staff. She works tirelessly to ensure all students are not only fed, but also greeted with a caring smile. Mrs. Raimann does it all, from making parfaits, to cutting fresh fruit, washing the dishes, or serving up a hot and delicious meal, Mrs. Raimann doesn't miss a beat.

A very special thank you to Mrs. Cheryl Raimann for all her hard work, day in and day out, and especially her dedication to the students and staff wellness of Gilles-Sweet Elementary." 

"On behalf of Gilles-Sweet faculty and staff, we would like to nominate Mrs. Clair Schiffman as the September Employee of the Month.

Clair is a hard worker, keeps us organized, her smiles are contagious, and always has a positive attitude. Clair can often be found designing and putting up school bulletin boards, making decorations for school with her Cricket, and spreading kindness with her delightful and personable demeanor.

During this past month, Clair stepped in as she took over and managed all the responsibilities of the school office by herself and has recently begun mentoring Mrs. Tidmore, our newest Gilles-Sweet family member. We are so grateful to have the pleasure of working with Clair."

"On behalf of the students and staff of Gilles-Sweet Elementary School, it is our honor to recognize Mr. Darrin Laughlin as Gilles-Sweet's December Shining Star recipient. Mr. Laughlin has stepped into his new role and really immersed himself in not only his position but the school culture as well. He is quick to respond and takes pride in all he does. This was shown again when he sprang into action and went well above and beyond over the holidays to ensure two classrooms were restored in time for the return of winter break after a water leak created havoc. Congratulations and thank you for your service behind the scenes, it does not go unnoticed!"

"Liz is dedicated to making sure she is here for her students. She plans activities that are fun and engaging. We love her creativity and dedication. Thanks for making the EEC a better place to work, learn and grow."

"Iulia comes to work everyday with a positive attitude. She is really a breathe of fresh air. Iulia works hard everyday and is eager to learn more about working with some challenging behaviors. She really loves and cares about our DAP friends. We are so lucky to have her here at the EEC. Thanks for being a shining star and for taking such good care of our preschoolers."

We are so happy to have Jen Sposit as part of our EEC family.  She is always willing to help wherever she is needed.  She is kind and always puts the best interest of our students first.  Jen works collaboratively with all the staff and is always willing to try and solve any problem.  She is a great listener and gives good advice.  Thanks Jen for all you do for our EEC family and for the FPCS.  

"On behalf of the students, staff and faculty of Gilles-Sweet Elementary, it is a pleasure to recognize through this nominate, Mrs. Jessica Simmons, as February's Shinning Star Staff recipient.

Mrs. Simmons embodies the spirit of teamwork and collaboration as she recently stepped in and transitioned to a new assignment during a sudden vacancy for an educational aide. Mrs. Simmons flexibility, eagerness, and commitment to acquire new experiences and skills inspired us all. Additionally, Mrs. Simmons took it upon herself to honor past 5th grade classes of students and decorated and organized several panorama pictures in a showcase that previously sat empty.

"Mr. Eucker is the jack of all trades at Mayer Middle School and Fairview High School. Jon is willing to do anything and everything asked of him to ensure the building operations smoothly and the students are taken care of. Jon brings great value to this organization. Mr. Eucker is always looking for additional responsibilities and takes on challenges with a smile. Mr. Eucker understands the value of relationships with students, staff and administration and how to use those relationships to get a job done. We are all so very thankful for Jon being a part of our team."

"Mrs. Kellner has really stepped up to provide leadership to the K team while Mrs. Laughlin is on maternity leave.  Mrs. Kellner has attended DLT meetings and Brave Ed meetings to make sure our K team continues to get information from the district view.  She has been able run all of the weekly BLT meetings and make sure we are staying on track with testing and progress monitoring.  Mrs. Kellner continues to make sure her students have the best kindergarten experience.  She is a EEC Rock Star and we are so happy she is part of the EEC family."

"Kelly puts time into planning fun activities for her students. She works with her colleagues and shares ideas freely. Kelly is also hosting the high school Rising Educators in her classroom. We are so happy to have Kelly as preschool teacher. Thanks for all you do for EEC and the district."

"Mrs. Taylor (Leah) comes to school each day with an optimistic attitude and ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead.  "Maggie has really helped to support our most needy students.  She is definitely a team player and has stepped in to make sure the students have some consistency.  Maggie has gone above and beyond taking over the planning and prep for all the lessons.  She makes sure all the students have their materials prepared for the day and their schedules are ready so they know what to do.  She has also been a great role model for the new staff starting in the classroom.  Maggie is patient and helps support others in a kind and respectful manner.  We are so lucky to have Maggie as part of our EEC family.  Thanks, Maggie, for all you do for the EEC and FPCS."

Mrs. McDevitt strives to continuously meet and exceed individual students and colleagues needs as an Intervention Specialist. Her classroom is a warm and inviting learning environment where students are immersed with her her deep commitment, compassion, and genuine care. Mrs. McDevitt's collaborative and tireless problem solving spirit encompasses her devotion to our students, families, and community of Fairview Park. Congratulations and thank you Mrs. McDevitt."

"Ms. Smigelski should be very proud of her professional growth, accomplishments and level of academic impact here at Mayer Middle School. Paige is known for her outstanding creativity, enthusiasm and performance. Working with her colleagues, she has helped many other staff members raise their own professional expectations. Ms. Smigelski's unique perspective and level of expertise is impressive and inspiring. The Campus administrative team is thankful for Paige's leadership, reliability and work ethic. "Over his many years in education, Mr. Friel has taken on a lot of additional roles and responsibilities beyond teaching at FHS and Mayer Middle School. When Rich is tasked with a new initiative or simply hears something other teachers or the administration are trying to accomplish, Rich goes all in to support the cause. Mr. Friel is not only a seeker of information, but also a plethora of knowledge related to health and physical education. Mr. Friel has a passion for his subject area and inspires students daily to work toward better fitness and performance. Rich is looked at as a mentor by his peers and a valued member of the the teaching team here at Fairview high School and Mayer Middle School. Congratulations, Rich."

Mrs. Schlesinger strives to meet the social, emotional, and well-being of all the students she works with each day.  Throughout her classroom lessons, student check-ins, social groups and lunch bunches, Mrs. Schlesinger provides our students with a deep sense of care and compassion.

Mrs. Schlesinger is an integral advocate for our student’s overall success. She promotes access and equity for all and is a vital member of our school leadership team.

"Mr. Hvizdos is a recent addition to the Campus staff. Within his short tenure, he has created a noticeable positive impact with students and staff. Mr. Hvizdos enters the building each day ready to get to work and share his passion for learning with each student he encounters. Samuel has been tasked with a variety of assignments while working for the Fairview Park City Schools. Each time he has been approached by the administration to complete a new task, he has accepted the role or responsibility with enthusiasm. We look forward to the many more great things Samuel will accomplish with the students of Fairview Park. Congratulations, Samuel."

"Mrs. Arancibia is one of the hardest working and most dedicated employees within the Fairview Park City School District. Throughout her time in Fairview Park, Sandy has seen many variations of the Spanish program. Throughout the changing tides and sometimes troubled waters, Sandy has always respectfully and rightfully questioned authority and advocated for the students and the Spanish program. This year, Mrs. Arancibia was tasked yet again to build and teach a new foundation program within the middle school. Not only did Sandy solicit a large number of students to join the program in the 7th grade, she was able to retain every student as they transitioned into 8th grade this coming year. Sandy accepts her role at Fairview and understands the challenges that are associated with it. For the past few years, Sandy has been assigned far more preps than any other teacher within the building. Sandy sacrifices her own personal time after school as well as during her lunch period to stay afloat. If asked why she does it, I guarantee she will tell you because of the pride she feels for the Fairview Park City Schools and that she feels she owes every student who enters her classroom her absolute best. Sandy delivers excellence each and every day. We should all feel honored to have her as a part of our talented staff at Fairview. Congratulations, Sandy."

"Words cant express my gratitude for what Sandy provides to this campus. Not only is Sandy a first class administrative assistant, but also a mentor to fellow employees, a role model to our students, and a champion of all things Fairview. Sandy provides excellent service to our students, staff and community every single day. With a smile on her face, she juggles an exorbitant number of tasks and never rests until each job is completely finished. A model employee and friend through and through! Congratulations, Sandy!"

"Susan is the glue that holds the EEC together.  She makes sure that every class has exactly what they need to make it through the day.  She keeps classes have supplies.  She also makes sure teachers have what they need.  She especially likes to provide bathroom breaks.  LOL.  I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Susan for everything she does.  The EEC is lucky to have someone like you."
