Welcome to Teaching & Learning

  • The Fairview Park City Schools is a top-performing, award-winning district serving students within the Fairview Park community in grades Pre-K through 12. With approximately 1,600 students, the district is committed to increasing student achievement through 21st-century learning tools, including a one-to-one Technology Initiative.

Comprised of four innovative learning facilities including the Early Education Center, Gilles-Sweet Elementary School, Mayer Middle School, and Fairview High School – students are provided with rigorous and diverse educational opportunities from daycare to diploma.

Goals

  • The vision that drives our district's strategic plan is "A community united, empowering each other to learn differently, care deeply, and aspire to excellence." This vision is complemented by our mission:  "We will deliver exceptional programs and services that challenge the mind, instill the joy of learning, and promote responsible citizenship."

To simultaneously actualize our strategic plan in concert with the Ohio Department of Education Learning Domains, Fairview Park City School District has established these overarching goals:

    1. To complement Foundational Knowledge and Skills, we have established a Future Ready Focus.  We integrate life skills, rigorous learning, and innovative methods by providing relevant, real-world experiences that will prepare our students for any future.
    2. To complement Well-Rounded Content, we seek balance when we deliver quality academics that weave together human connections with state-of-the-art technology and pedagogy.
    3. To complement Leadership and Reasoning, we pay close attention to soft skills, nurturing students in developing tools to effectively communicate with others and confidently interact with the global environment.
    4. To fulfill the promise of Social-Emotional Learning, we cultivate and engage in positive relationships that foster students' holistic personal growth and contribute to the dynamics of strong communities.
