School districts in the State of Ohio operate on a fiscal year calendar beginning July 1 and ending June 30. School districts are the only government agency in the state required to submit a working budget known as a five-year forecast. The forecast is an assumption of the district finances and includes actual finances of the last three fiscal years, estimated current fiscal year revenues and expenditures, and estimates for the next four fiscal years.
